Puppies are here!

Miko delivers her puppies on March 5, 2010.

Cute little Miko spent the day doing a lot of digging in her bed, she was 'nesting', preparing a nice place to deliver her babies. She also wouldn't let me out of her sight all day. She would follow me from room to room and sit at my feet while I made my dog diapers. I could tell she would be delivering her puppies soon.

Sure enough, at 10:00 pm., she let out a whelp, and delivered a tiny little girl. Twenty minutes later, another little girl. Ten minutes was all that went by before baby number three came into the world. It was another tiny female. At midnight she let out another cry, and out came puppy number four, a sweet red colored little boy. Imagine our surprise when at 12:45 she delivered another tiny male puppy! We were only expecting her to deliver 2-3 puppies.

All the babies weigh between 5 oz. to 5.3 oz. They are about the size of a stick of butter. Miko and all the babies are doing great! She is the best little mommy!
